I recently visited Thirukannangudi . This is the first time I visited to this temple. On outset the temple has barely any maintenance or visitors. Just want to share certain details about the plight of the temple. Perumal barely has any 'alankaram'. Even the lamps they light and off when there is no body there. Perumal and thayar are just dressed with some flowers. Out of anxiety, I asked temple priest on general things. He felt very annoyed and said even people beyond 2 kms dont know about the temple. People who read books about 108 divyadesam used to come there. Finally, he said his salary is 600 rs per month and will receive once in a year. Just imagine what could be done with this. Along with him, there is a watchman, whose salary is 200 rs per month and that also will be received once in a year.
I would request all you people who read this blog to contribute something consistently on monthly basis which would prove to be an immense help to regular functioning of the temple. My self, I'm about to send 1000rs every month to temple. All big heart, kindly do the needful.
